A very good place to start is with Peter Williams' Internet information. Dr. Williams is
an educator, author, choral director, speaker, and in the forefront of Welsh Heritage.
You can order his book on David Thomas, the father of the American Iron Industry,
through NWAF Publications.

lots of Welsh references.

The Anthracite Heritage Museum at Scranton's McDade Park is
our local center for anthracite history. The famous Coal Mine
Tour is also located there.
Nearby, Steamtown National Historic Site has working
locomotives and train rides. The Steamtown complex also
encompasses the Electric City Trolley Museum, America's first all
electric streetcar system.
Scranton's Iron Furnaces were a critical part of America's success
and are a short distance from Steamtown.
PHMC has extensive information on anthracite people.
The Avondale Mine Disaster of 1869 was the worst of it's kind up
'til that time. The victims were mostly Welsh and some only
newly arrived in America.
